How to Take Care of Your New Bag or Case

Caring for Waxed Canvas

Our Maker’s bags feature Waxed Canvas, a durable and stylish fabric designed to repel water and dirt. Waxed Canvas will break in with time. The scuffs and marks they pick up along the way add character!

Waxed Canvas should NOT be machine washed or dried, exposed to hot water, or harsh detergents.

Use a soft bristled brush to lightly scrub away any debris. Rub lightly in a circular motion to redistribute wax over unwanted scratches. A sponge with plain cold water can be used gently on stubborn spots. Use only cold water and a mild detergent when needed.

And sometimes your zipper might get a little stuck, so if you need to unstick it, just swipe it with some beeswax.

Caring for Leather

The della Q bags and accessories use full grain leather. This high quality natural product retains its integrity and looks for a long time when properly cared for. It will age and wear for a rugged, natural style.

Try to keep the leather portions of your bag dry. Do not use a hairdryer or any heat products to dry the bag; this can cause the leather to crack and shrink.

Maintain the leather by applying a colorless leather cleaning cream with a soft cloth evenly over the surface of the leather.

Caring for Faux Leather

The della Q Maker’s Cases use PVC Free Polyurethane, aka Faux Leather. This material is extremely stain resistant, but does require routine cleaning and maintenance to keep it looking great.

Gently wash the faux leather portion of your bag with mild soap and water, and treat it with a conditioner & UV protectant made specifically for faux leather.

Without cleaning and conditioning, this material will dry out and crack over time. In essence, treat your bag like you treat your skin: clean, moisturize, and apply sunscreen.
